Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
So Abram went forth as the LORD had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all [the servants] who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said to him.
"For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him."
and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,
"In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."
Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments.
His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.
A Song of Ascents. How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.
When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you.
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table.
Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD.
The LORD bless you from Zion, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
Indeed, may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel!
"Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others [to do] the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches [them], he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not [in] vain in the Lord.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
